Clearing Sharjah drains where grease, not a plant line, is the call
Industrial Area kitchens block on grease from staff meals, and that job is a canteen waste, not a process line inside a factory.
A slow basin in Rolla is frequently hair at a trap, while a staff kitchen in the Industrial Area is fat that has set in a long horizontal run. Emergency Plumber uses a hand snake where the trap is the whole storey, and a machine where several fixtures or several flats have slowed together. Chemical pour-ins are not the offer. They sit in the heat, scar the chrome, and do nothing to a grease plug metres away. Older shared stacks in Al Qasimia and Abu Shagara back up into the lowest bathroom first, which makes a ground-floor tenant look guilty. We clear from the stack access or the roof vent when the whole riser is slow, and we tell the landlord which flats actually need a door opened.
Small canteens beside workshops are a regular Sharjah call, and they stop being our work when someone asks for process piping, coolant lines or a plant drain that is part of production. Staff toilets and a kitchen waste are ordinary plumbing. A production line is not. Newer homes in Al Taawun and Al Majaz add dishwashers that share a tail with the sink, so the blockage is often at that joint rather than in the street. If the same kitchen stops every month, Emergency Plumber looks for a flat run or a belly, not a new set of cabinets. You see the water leave a full sink before we call the line clear.
Grease in canteens, hair in older stacks
Sharjah's older blocks and its industrial sheds block for different reasons, and a single method insults both. In Al Qasimia, Rolla and Abu Shagara the stack is shared, the fall is tired, and wipes meet hair at a bend nobody has opened in years. In the Industrial Area the waste is cooking grease from a staff kitchen, sometimes still warm when we arrive, and it resets if the habit does not change. Emergency Plumber will not sell a chemical as a repair, and will not pretend a canteen is a process plant that needs a different trade. Landlords with a row of small flats often discover the stack only when the lowest tenant complains. We clear the common line once, then say if a local trap is a separate visit.
What happens on the job
1
Name the slow fixture
A single basin, a staff-kitchen line, or a stack that has backed up through more than one flat.
2
Clear from the right access
The trap if it is local, the stack eye or roof vent if several bathrooms have slowed together.
3
Prove the fall with a full sink
Run a real volume of water and say whether the line will stay clear or the fall itself is broken.
Where this call usually takes us
Kitchen grease and staff toilets are the Industrial Area pattern. Shared bathroom stacks are the pattern in Rolla, Al Qasimia, Abu Shagara and parts of Al Nahda. Al Taawun and Al Majaz add newer wastes that fail at dishwasher joints. Emergency Plumber asks which fixtures are slow before loading the machine, because a trap and a stack are not the same hour.
Do you clear process drains in the Industrial Area?+
No. Emergency Plumber clears staff kitchens, canteen grease and staff toilets. Process plant, production wastes and chemical lines are a different trade, and we will say that at the door rather than experiment on them. If the blockage is the kitchen that feeds the workshop crew, the machine and the access eye are enough. Bring the person who can open the canteen and the yard, because the line often leaves the kitchen through a shaft outside.
Every bathroom on the stair is slow. Is it my trap?+
Usually not. In Al Qasimia, Rolla and Abu Shagara a shared stack shows up as several flats slowing on the same day, with the lowest one flooding first. Emergency Plumber looks for a cleaning eye or the roof vent before pulling your trap apart a third time. A landlord who holds several small flats can save the morning by opening the eye that sits in a common cupboard. We say if a flat door is actually required.
Why not use the strong acid from the shop?+
It sits in the trap, damages the chrome, and never reaches a grease plug ten metres along a flat canteen run. It also burns the next person who opens the fitting, which in a shared Rolla stack may be a neighbour. Emergency Plumber machines the line and then runs water. If the fall is broken, we say the blockage will return, because a cleared belly is not a new pipe.
The kitchen sink slows only when the dishwasher runs.+
The two usually share a tail that is partly blocked, or the dishwasher waste was pushed on without a proper clip. This shows up in newer Al Taawun and Al Majaz kitchens as often as in a refitted older flat. Emergency Plumber checks that joint before snaking the whole building. One full drain cycle is the test, watched while we are still under the cabinet.
